February 25, 2010 -- At the Health-Care Summit, Sen. Lamar Alexander advocated a blank-slate approach to reforming health care, saying that the current bill is too expensive, but that health care definitely needs to be addressed. "[The bill] dumps 15 - 18 million low-income Americans into a Medicaid program that none of us want to be a part of, because 50% of doctors won't see new patients. So it's like giving someone a ticket to a bus line where the buses only run half the time."

Did Alexander complain about the Medicare reconstruction act of 2003? Remember that one? It was the nothing but one huge unfunded mandate.
