Anyone know what the background music is playing? It was in several of early 80's clips/commercials back in the day

I was looking at this video which brought back fond memories. In the mid 1970's a Miss Budweiser was imported into Australia and raced. The name was shortened to just Miss Bud. It wasn't the one in this video and from memory it had the engine forward of the driver. The boat raced at Lake Eppalock and Yarrawonga that I witnessed and was unbeatable. It was 35 years ago but I'll never forget the noise of the machine. Awesome.

I doubt any team used DB motors, but I'm happy to be proven wrong. It's highly unlikely that anyone would invert a complex piston engine for racing. The complex engineering changes to the oiling and cooling systems would not be worth all of the effort. (Merlins could not by flown inverted without damage.) The DB engines were not as easily obtainable compared to the supplies of Merlins and Allisons that were available and used up by the hundreds in hydro racing.

The Griffon has more CU

this was my next-door neighbors boat
I thought he just painted it like a bud can for fun.
it sucked as a fishing boat

I know this isn't question period, but how much more HP would the RR Griffon make over thr Merlin? I read that some boats even ran a Messerschmit engine, that had to be installed upside in boat.Would love to see that in a video. down!

Piston engine should come back, it's so awesome sound
Great stuff, Russ! Was this from the Champion Spark Plug commercial or the Budweiser commercial filmed around the same time?
