I was in parliament as an opposition member for nine or ten years. I was a pretty aggressive opposition member, I don't ever recall in that decade current political staff members of the government being called before committees to testify.

Then:

To date the committee has heard from little more than 40 of those witnesses...We have not heard from dozens of political staffers like Mario Laguë, Bruce Hartley, Karl Littler, Terrie O'Leary, Warren Kinsella, Jean Carle, Albano Gidaro, Elly Alboim Earnscliffe, and Jacques Hudon..."

I haven't really been paying attention to TV coverage of the current federal election campaign, but from what little I've seen it appears as if this character is keeping a low profile. That would make sense since he's a shoe-in to be re-elected in his Calgary riding so keeping quiet and avoiding any unforced errors is good strategy. But he's also incredibly unlikeable and probably seen by conservative strategists as a liability to the party during an election.

I live in his calgary riding. Never heard from him in 6 yrs. In 6 months he's emailed 3 times on:1) federal jobs unfairly going to aboriginals 2) illegal refugees 3) scrapping the gun registry. All right-wing hot button favourites. It's clear what these shameless manipulators want. They'd like nothing more than to fracture opinion here to resemble the insanity in the US. A frightened, angry, but highly mobilised minority will keep them in office and allow them to move canada further to the right
