WASHINGTON DC - As we move through the complex legalese of Judge Sonia Sotomayor's confirmation hearing, I thought it completely appropriate for a moment of levity.

@elsamuraiguapo I think you need to go live in a remote cave somewhere away from people as much as you seem to fear and distrust them. The way you speak one could immagine you think EVERY gun owner will go out and commit a crime. When guns are actually used far more times to STOP a crime than commit one. If I'm in a store and a mad man comes in with the intent to kill everyone in there. At least there is more chance that people's lives will be savedbecause I am armed and trained with my firearm.

@elsamuraiguapo Depends on your definition of gun nuts. I will agree there are a few bad apples in the gun world but you get that no matter where you go or what your into. Some people just get into martial arts or MMA to reinforce there already aggresive nature. Alot of the problem is misunderstanding. People have a tendancy to fear things they don't understand. It's easier then trying to understand something you fear or dislike.

@elsamuraiguapo I have gone through training far beyond what your average police officer gose through. Military and Tactical. Considering most only have to go to the range once a year to pass a non-moving target test. I am able to use my firearm's above most of my LEO friends. I answer force for force, Walk away from the fights I can, and never carry when drinking. I always, as a rule of thumb, think things over. Unless the situation demands immediate action. Then I rely on my training.

@jsh78mang After all, a "law abiding citizen" is simply one who hasn't committed a crime...yet.

And I think my comment about the gun nuts in this country is at least partially true. Face it, a lot of Americans have a bizarre obsession with firearms that you just don't see anywhere else in the world.

Many of them will hide under the guise of self-defense, but in reality we both know that the truth is they just like feeling empowered by carrying a firearm(s).

@jsh78mang It's easy to claim you know how and when to responsibly use a firearm, but does that mean it's true for everyone else? I guess the difference between us is that I don't trust people as much as you do. There's plenty of situations where even ordinarily responsible trustworthy folks don't use the best of judgment - especially when things like factors like relationships and alcohol are in this mix.

@elsamuraiguapo I know how and when to use a firearm and have studied in their use and tech. Republican, Nope. I can not be defined by political ideology. No party agrees with my beliefs completely. Also remeber there are plenty of "Left wing" pro gunners out there. Small penis? Really lowering yourself to ad hom attacks? Sorry no problem in that feild. Do enjoy your trip. @elsamuraiguapo A diffrence of opinions is true. People see things in diffrent lights that is just how the world works. I'm not worried and i would never tell anyone to "Get the hell out " Conflicting views make this country better. A single side to a story never tells the whole tale.
