This was the first demonstration launch of Project Aether (www.ProjectAether.org), a project to involve high school students in hands on designing, building, and flying of weather balloons to the edge of space. Donations to keep these student balloons and this project aloft can be made by paypal at

@thevdogamr It always pops...the latex is not strong enough to hold in any pressure against vacuum. As the balloon rises, the air pressure falls off towards vacuum.
