SnOil" (short for Snake + Oil) is a tactile display that uses Ferrofluid (magnetically reactive liquid) and an array of electromagnets to control 144 individual "bumps" and integrated motion sensors that allows for the game of "Snake" to be played when the user tilts the tactile display back and forth.

  • @iRicecrispy it should be do-able.. watch "ferrofluid in water". my guess is that you make a mechanic fish, with a magnetic field. dip it in ferrofluid and throw it in a aquarium.

P.s. I´m not cleaing the fish after.. :P

  • Fuck! I wish I had thought of this! :)

  • Awsome job :)

  • where do I get one

  • how much fluid did you use here?

  • i should be doing my homework....

  • @XXXxxxGAVESxxxXXX How so?

  • Hax

  • I WHANT WHUN

  • Dude, pacman... on this resolution? Long way to go.

But while watching discovery science (i gues) i saw this theory that in the future we can probably build up 3D shapes uit of a ton of small objects. Made me think, what if we had an epic fluid capable of that... AND HERE IT IS!

If you could learn to fully controll this, you could have some epic aquarium with Ferro Fish! I aint saying it's do-able, but im quite sure it will be some day.
