The Film Versus Film crew tackles the question, "What's the best twist ending in all of film?" Is it The Departed, Seven, An Education, Memento, Inception, The Dark Knight? Or did the best twist ending come from M. Night Shyalaman? Signs, The Sixth Sense, The Village, The Happening?

  • I understand. when i get into a heated movie convo i tend to divert also. And a bit underated.....lets throw Fraility in the mix. :-)

Heres an idea for a show guys......."Most overated actor in the last 20 years" would love to see you guys converse/ divert from that subject

That's a great idea for a topic (if you have more, please keep 'em coming). Immediately springing to mind for Most Overrated Actor is Denzel. He can be excellent, but only when the role fits the very narrow range in which he excels. Sorta like Costner - when he's in a role that suits his Gary Cooper-ish thing, he's pretty awesome, but outside his element it's trouble.

Oh, and Frailty is a great one. I wish Paxton would direct again, he's got a talent for it.

  • I don't know that Shawshank qualifies as a twist ending exactly, but Primal Fear is definitely a great one we overlooked. We also missed Planet of the Apes, Witness for the Prosecution, The Wicker Man, Soylent Green, The Game, No Way Out, and perhaps my favorite, Angel Heart. We got on Christopher Nolan and M. Night kicks and couldn't divert! :-)

  • I liked Memento's and Unbreakable's. Luck Number Slevin's went on for a little too long and they kept adding too much, but the main twist I thought was really good.

  • @Staminated I did.

  • memento?

  • This camera work is so damn distracting, I couldn't concentrate on what these guys were saying. Come on, color to B/W? Partly obscuring one guy talking? Camera shakes? Hey, whoever's setting up these shots, save the art for your next gripping documentary ... your job is make us feel like we're in the conversation, never to call attention to the shot itself.

  • I love how the title of this is "Whats the best twist ending in all of film" and all these four guys do is Criticize of some of the best twist endings of all time. They dont ever actually say " That was a good twist ending" Being Critical is one thing..........but if the title of a show is a question, Can you maybe answer it??? And by the way, you guys ever hear of these movies "Shawshank"??? or fight club?? I would even give Primal Fear an honorable mention

  • The best twist ending is when Matt says "It was shot by Chris Doyle". Totally didn't see that coming.
