It was flying cargo in and out of "a dry dusty place" don't want say where. I believe they have lost their flying certificate now so we haven't seen them for a while.

I've seen that DC-8 fly over my house (in the approach path to lyneham a lot this year. I wonder why it is using Lyneham?

Your airport is in close relationship to mine (Oostende, Belgium - EBOS -). Most of our flights going to Basrah (Iraq) come from Lyneham first and then have a little operation here before flying on.
