  • That old thing runs nice!! very cool!!

  • Thanks, we have redone the engine this past spring and runs even better!!

  • wait that wasn't rebuilt? it looks brand new!

  • Well...this was an older restoration that did not look too bad, but I saw one at a car show that really looked good, so I basically redone mine!!

  • very nice i had a 49 also sounds awesome

  • This is the smaller straight eight not the Roadmaster straight eight. Roadmasters pushed about 165bhp stock and Super/Specials pushed about 120bhp. But they still had a lot of torque!!

  • Is that a 320ci FireBall? Best. Eight-cylinder. Ever. I would LOVE to put one in my 1958 Kaiser-Jeep CJ-3b... Would it fit?

  • Carburetor starting switch sure comes in handy for an under hood start

  • Two engines come to mind...the 1947 Studebaker flat head six and the 1948 Buick straight eight...when I remember smoothness and quiet. Both engines properly tuned and muffled were almost silent and vibrationless. Sometimes you had to feel the steering column to make sure the car was still running. These cars were fifty years old when I owned them. I own a Mercedes Benz now. Nice car but not as and smooth as the Studebaker and Buick.

  • @windsordrywallpro look closely at the manifold. its an 8.

  • What style of rocker arms or shaft rockers does it use?

  • @windsordrywallpro thats all buick made then

  • Ahhh, love the purrrrr of those big straight 8's!

  • I want to put one of these in a '32 Chevy Pickup!

  • Yes its a straight 8, i believe its 263CI but i could be wrong. Its called the fireball 8. My boss at work has a 50 buick and hes restoring it thats how i know. Hes got the engine and tranny out sitting in the shop.

  • it might be but looks like a straight six to me, looks to short to be an 8, i could be wrong though
