This tune is off Ommadawn Pt 2, I learnt it by slowing down an old record player, it was an L.P. so I slowed it down to 16 speed to hear it in slow motion then picked out the notes one by one, It took me a few weeks to get through it all, that was 20 years ago.

  • @starfrancis , Thank you, I'm glad you like what I play.

  • few weeks?I'm impressed,is it standard tuning?

  • @gibderfenson , No this is not standard tuning, the thick "E" string is tuned to "D" and the "D" string is tuned up to "E".

  • @llanbradach strange tuning,I never met it before, did you figure it out by ear too?

  • @gibderfenson , Yes I figured it out by ear by realising that his fingers couldn't be so high up the neck and play low bass notes, suddenly it all clicked together once I understood how the tuning.

  • Beautiful, best posts on youtube since it opened. Your interpretations of Mike Oldfield's music are undoubtedly the finest works I've heard, To be frank I wouldn't have believed this piece was possibly to play on one guitar,

Thank you for the joy you have given me over the last year since I uncovered your posts, have to admit to visiting your posts of Mike's music every week for over a year.
