I came across the Calm-A-Sutra of Tea scholarship while searching the internet. After reading about all the different teas, I became more connected to the project and getting your message across. New York City is an especially hectic and disjointed place. It can be hard to find the time to really take care of your health, and just having an understanding of the powerful effects of a cup of tea was in truth a pretty eye opening experience. My objective in this project was to convey daily life in NYC, and how we are bombarded by advertisements on every corner. I wanted to turn them into something positive that had a massive and immediate effect on someone. In the end, she manages to find a way to enjoy her tea in a rather unconventional, but nevertheless, interesting way. I truly hope you enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed producing it.
