What might lead an individualist to call himself a Satanist, even when he doesn't believe in the existence of the devil?

  • Too often we find ourselves at the mercy of people that don't understand nor care anything for us.

  • @phenixxfire1 Yeah, I've had that experience a few times. But you either rise to it, or you disappear back to the sheep pen. But it does make me appreciate the importance of pragmatism in all I do and say.

  • 2:12 onwards: You are automatically going to start talking about all the things 'you think' are wrong with the world! Not all the things wrong with the world!

The crazy part is, you are disregarding that others will not hold your opinion so we have the possibility of 7 billion different opinions on earth about the same matter. So you criticize everyone by not conforming to anyone but yourself.

You want to be singled out. Hey! You got it! You are not part of the group and not accepted! The End!

  • @faisalmfs1983 No. There is a mentality that respects individualism in all its forms, and there is a mentality that seeks to brand everyone who thinks different as a villain. That is the difference. I can get along fine with people who have a different worldview with me, but too often they can't get along with me.

  • hi darryl, all your comments are valid. however, it seems unwise for one who stands for freethinking to label oneself as a "satanist" even if one doesn't believe in satan. to do so would be to risk misunderstanding and condemnation from others. wisdom would say that avoiding such conflict is best for harmonious relationships. one can simply use the term "freethinker" if that is what one is. no need to call oneself a "satanist". the risk from such a label just seems unnecessary to take.

  • @GlobalDating Agreed.

  • @ConsumedByDrums Why are you getting so annoyed about a video that is simply designed to be helpful in clearing up misconceptions about what Satanism is? Would you prefer a nice gory, nasty "true story" about Satanic cults and human sacrifices and orgies, and all that good stuff?

  • @CBasie2856 I understand where you're coming from. We live in a media saturated society. But the individuality I'm talking about is a state of mind - nothing to do with newness. Just the willingness to find your own way instead of looking for something/someone to follow. If you end up believing in something that already exists, that's fine - as long as the decision was fully yours.

  • If you're going to declare yourself as something and let it be known, develop VERY thick skin. If you're putting a target on your back, be sure you're Kevlar- coated to take all the barbs, bullets and darts people are going to aim in your direction (speaking figuratively-- maybe). Develop quick wit and mind; you'll be endlessly drilled by those that bother talking to you. Some might actually be well meaning, most won't. Make sure you're in a position that no one can hurt you, expect no mercy.

  • Depends on the Satanism and the interpretation of it. I prefer LaVeyain Satanism.

  • Excellent video. Its about authenticity to one's self.

  • @CBasie2856 Thats true! Our thoughts are connected through life

  • @darrylsloan and then crying foul for his men to hate you.

Accept that you are going to be branded a villain for calling yourself a satanist. That's all I want to get across. Just be responsible for your own actions.

Tolerance is good. But condoning something wrong in the name of tolerance is wrong. Just keep following what you want to follow in the privacy of your home but if you do tell others, expect to be judged. That is human nature and you cannot avoid it.

Understand this & life is easier!

  • @darrylsloan Agree that the solution is tolerance.

Having said that, you cannot respect a crazy man who wants to kill people who he dislikes just because he dislikes him. That alone is reason to not tolerate his point of view. The idea of tolerance comes with responsibility of judgement. Being an individualist satanist brands you a villain because it is meant to hurt others. An analogy will be: telling George Washington that you support British colonialism at the time of the war of independence
