@Clansfolk1951 GuitarJack Model 1 will work on iPod touch (2nd and 3rd generation), but not iPhone 4 or iPad. iPhone 3G and 3GS work great as you can see in videos like this one (best in airplane mode). GuitarJack Model 1 is compatible with iOS 3 and later on iPod touch (2nd and 3rd generation).

GuitarJack Model 1 is NOT compatible with iPhone 4, iPod touch (4th gen.), or iPad.
