Ian Bannerman and Ryan Vamos accompanied by Strathroy United Church music director Edith Hanselman on the Boston grand piano perform Antonin Dvorak's "God is My Shepherd" from Biblical Songs, Opus 99 (1894) as the July 27, 2008 anthem.

Antonín Leopold Dvořák; September 8, 1841 -- May 1, 1904) was a Czech composer of Romantic music, who employed the idioms and melodies of the folk music of his native Bohemia and Moravia. His works include operas, symphonic, choral and chamber music. His best-known work is his New World Symphony, particularly the slow movement; his Slavonic Dances and American String Quartet are also well known.

  • Amazing voice resonance on this song. This is such a peaceful song. Thanks for sharing. I found the original Czech form of this song in a audio file attached to Wikipedia on the article about Dvorak. It's about 6 minutes into it. Check it out.
