A team of Bristol engineers have created a robotic snake which can wriggle into inaccessible and dangerous places.

The technology, which took 10 years to develop, could be used to access locations such as the inside of a nuclear reactor.

@DemiGuy Most likely there would only be hardened electrical coponents inside with all the electronics outside. It looks like the thing is controlled by the use of many wires with their controls at the base, and thus outside of a reactor. Anyway, reactors don't deserve the bad press they get. It is the humans that don't maintain them or build them in dangerous places who are the fault. Anyway - the future is fusion powerplants, small semi-trailer sized micro reactors and solar.

I thought conventional technology was handicapped due to the high radiation playing hoc on the electronics of the equipment.

How would this be different?
