@Notengoespacio well, look at it at it this way. if your keeping a guy busy in your guard on the ground it would be difficult for that guy to pull out a knife. on that note, the US millitary, police and other forces train bjj. to me, its the difference between some big dumb bar brawler punching your lights out on the ground and you choking him out and walking away with your life. Im not saying bjj is a perfect MA, but i do think it has self defence applications.
