For those of you who would like to get an idea of the whole film, BearManor Media will be reprinting a rare find of mine In April 2012 - The novel, released in 1928, by Gladys Unger, based on the screenplay by Dorothy Farnum. With this marvelous clip it is all that remains - one can only hope.

Just wonderful - Thank you for posting this. I've been thinking about doing a book reconstruction of this film as I had with another lost film "London After Midnight"

I'm so sad this is the only thing remaining from the film. It's a beautiful portrayal of love and loss in war and very honest, too. Simply lovely.
Thanks very much for posting this :)

Such fantastic footage. Sjöström & Garbo were really wonderful together. It's unfortunate that this is the only scene remaining. Thanks for uploading it.

Thanks for uploading! Very appreciated. I became so captivated that I entirely forgot that this is just a fragment - so sad that the rest is lost!
