Great photos. Great tech. Great people. But, seriously, check out the cool offices, be the first to see a very cool movie they are making about their company, look at the multi-gigapixel photography, and just have a good time hanging out with SmugMug's founders (SmugMug is a great photo service that competes in some ways with Flickr).

  • No, I do edit a bit. But even then, uploading a 30 minute video in HD takes forever. I did one the other day and it took eight hours.

  • Great video - I really enjoyed it - but why isn't it in HD? Is there an HD version somewhere? The beautiful photography doesn't quite look as good as it should at 480p. I'm a long-time Smugmug customer and it's really cool to see the behind the scenes. I have a great deal of genuine respect for Smugmug as a company - they're very different than the big faceless corporations out there doing photo sharing/hosting.

  • @ThoughtsMedia when you do long videos you just can't upload HD videos anywhere. My raw 1080p files are 4 gb for every 14 minutes of video.

  • I wonder if he ever got to go on top of the north tower of the Golden Gate bridge? Would love to see the stairs now.

  • @Scobleizer Aha, so you don't edit before you upload? That would explain it. I edit and transcode to 1080p h.264 as part of my workflow with videos. Takes more time, but then I get 1080p in usable file sizes for uploading to YouTube, Smugmug, etc. Pretty much impossible to do that with raw video clips unless they're very short. Thanks for responding, I appreciate the insight.

  • Cool video! When are you guys going to add the music & our pics slideshow together?

  • Great tour of the office. Can't wait to see the video, new layout, and how the stairwell shots come out.
