If the strike never happened, two things could have happened:
1. Don Mattingly could have retired with a ring.
2. The Expos could have been taken seriously and would still be around today.
And an all-Canadian World Series probably wouldn't have happened that year. The Jays were lagging behind three or four other teams for the Wild Card.

The redsox, cubs and countless other teams don't have to say what if? You know why? Because through good and bad times they support their team. The strike didn't he;p but the bottom line is the fans should have come to supports the expos no matter what!!!

I hate the Washington Nationals!!!

I could have seen the Yankees and the Expos meeting each other in the '94 World Series. Hell, I'd go as far as saying the Expos would have had the dynasty that the Yankees had in the late '90s. It really is sad that it came to the strike ultimately deciding the fate of the Expos ten years later.

@donovanjd3 Oh wow, I completely forgot about that comment, but I'm glad you brought that up. My opinions on the Expos/Nationals have changed since then, and I believe that they are actually becoming a legitimate contender again. I do, however, believe the MLB could do without a few certain other teams.

why do you think that. the expos had one of the best records in the National League from the late 70's to the mid 90's.from 78-81 they were very legitimate contenders. In the late 80's early 90';s they consistently were in the hunt of the NL East title. This was before the wild card. At the end of most season they'd finish 2 games in back of the "big money teams" like the Phillies, Pirates, or Braves.Even the 03 team which was held back by MLB was in the wildcard race till the end

I think it was the strike that killed the Expos more than not winning a World Series. Had the strike never happened it wouldn't have killed interest in Montreal & many of the top players wouldn't have left. The strike ripped the Expos heart out & as a result they felt the effects on the field & slowly the fan base left. Plus nobody would give the Expos a new stadium either cause of uptight bureaucrats running the city.

fuck the 1994 strike

I think the Cleveland Indians would've beat the Expos in the World Series had there been no strike that year. Not that Cleveland was much better, (arguably though) they just have worse luck. I'm a Tigers fan, so there is no bias.

@Jiltedin2007 Greg Maddux even said the best teams he played on were the 94-96 teams. Dominant pitching and the starters would pitch into the 7th inning pretty much every time. They should have never traded Justice after that 96 series. But I think it was because they had more faith in Jermaine Dye coming up.
Yes i hate shady business mixed with politics which lead to broken hearts for many, many people.
Thank you for the comment!
