@thechu503 oh yeah i deff agree with you. i mean if someone says "freestyle" i expect off the top. at the same time i have no problem with written freestyles as well, but yeah freestyles are off the dome. rappin itself is defined around the freestyle, to be able to summon crazy wordplay and rhymes so quickly off the top takes a lot of skill and hard work...writing a song period is not hard, but it really shows skill when u can just go off the top

@xIFORGOTTOPULLOUTx yeah this verse is kinda overused BUT I gotta say every hiphop head that I know (including myself) defines a freestyle as off the dome. you'd get called out if you spat one verse in a cypher and people thought it was ill then you came back the next week and spat the same verse, I've heard a lot of definitions for freestyle thrown around but the only TRUE freestyles come out of the moment and off the top, it's pure energy and lyricism nothing written. this is ill but not that

@prrsh612 he used that whole "are you afraid of a razor with aids......." verse in alot of his freestyles so it's not off the dome but it's still a freestyle....the definition of a freestyle has practically changed, it once was just off the top, but now it means just rappin without a topic....it could be off the top or written...but it's just nonstop wordplay and shit....but yes he over used this one ALOT back in the day
