I don't even know why there is a debate here. If you have to say "protect"; "take it easy on"; or any of the sort, then that person is NOT ready to compete. I do understand the cliche "girl vs guy" argument but she and her trainers should have been prepared for that coming in and if she wasn't, THEN SHE WASN'T READY! I don't blame Joe for standing behind his students/family, but don't bad mouth another fighter for showing her that there is no sympathy anywhere, hence making her stronger for it.

Why was nothing said at the tourny? Why wait and complain about it online if it was such an issue?

Il n'a pas à la prendre en pitié. Si elle est incapable de compétitionner contre des hommes, qu'elle ne fasse ps ce genre de tournoi tout simplement :PP

@zucchinipants Not to be rude or anything but if you cant submit a girl you need to work out your grappling, ALOT

@zucchinipants Thats the worst fucking idea ever. Those shorts are to make you feel better and not way you down.
she shoulda been handicapped 10pts for those shorts he was in

Those shorts are for making people feel uncomfortable about their own sexuality. Once they're distracted, then I pounce. That's my strategy, anyway. Not sure if it works...

I'm sure you felt real tough acting like an asshole to a girl. I would think you could use a reasonable amount of control on a girl thats been training for two weeks. I just hope a few of my guys will have a chance to repay the courtesy you had and dump you on your head, slam you a few times, rag doll you all over the mat and grind their forearm across your face. It's a small world, so I am sure they will get a chance.

I'm sorry, Joe. I had no idea of her skill level at the time and took the match seriously. I kept it standing because I assumed her ground game was much better than mine. Of course I had no intention of injuring her or of "grinding my forearm across her face". Believe me, I never feel like a tough guy. The only thing I wanted to do that day was use the throws that I've learned, not hurt anybody -- if she landed on her head, then my technique needs improvement. I hope she's ok.

im with joe, you never use ur strength against someone of less experience size or strength. you use technique..not to mention u wouldnt score anypints "keeping it standing". if u wanna "keep it standing" fight me or anybody else in a cage. my girlfriend trains MMA and jiu jitsu and i hope we see you around the next tournament.

I have only 3 months experience and am not strong. I didn't choose to fight her, knew nothing about her, and wasn't told to throw the fight for her sake. I should upload the video of her other fight where the guy almost ripped her arm off in a kimura. Talk about not using strength...
It seems like common sense that you don't enter a grappling tournament without being able to defend takedowns and break a fall, at least.
She did well, and I'm sure she'll be awesome in a month, as you say.
