I mounted a Canon Digital Rebel SLR to my touring bike's rear rack, using a Manfrotto super-clamp. A remote, locking shutter-release was used to begin and end camera "firings". I usually let the camera fire at its own pace -- it's a bit fast at first, but it slows to good, steady rate after about 30 frames. For shots where I need more control, such as long-duration star/constellation sequences, I use software/laptop/USB cable.
