So a basically they were building Japan?

Am i the only one that is completely scared if this happend. Its like henry fords idea or the ideas of brave new world. No one would have had a vote

The only thing that worries me about the plan was that EPCOT would be a totalitarian government. People couldn't own their own homes or have municipal voting rights. If they lost their job or retired they would be kicked out of their home.

I don't know if they had the technology to build the dome back then, but it could probably be done today. All large traffic tunnels have powerful ventilation systems, and large domes have vents at the top to let out the buildup of heat and moisture.

It's such a drag that no other private enterprise has tried to do this. Walt Disney must have known such a venture would never be profitable, but men of character are seldom concerned about such small details.

This was the real deal, the real Andrew Ryan, the real Howard Stark.

To solve the emissions problem, perhaps- and I'm no engineer- they could consolidate both vehicle layers, and then make it more likes conveyor belt system, or even like the WED ways. Trucks would unload their produce into carts, and cars would drive up and park on a platform of sorts. Trucks leave on the top layer and cars are shuttled through, gas-free, at an accident-free rate.

You have to give it up to them for dreaming big, however, I see 2 key problems. 1) Emissions. The smog on those lower levels from the cars would be at astronomical levels unless they could figure out some sort of ventilation system. 2) Same issue for the bubble enclosing the community. There would need to be a way to filter out any pollutants from the air. It was the 70's though...

They had an airport but it was super small, and eventually it closed.

What ever happened to the Airport? That would be awesome if they really implemented that idea into the Walt Disney World, and be the true gateway into the WDW. Maybe in the near future, that way no more bus trips from MCO to WDW.
