@SecureOurFuture And how is this better for the working poor than social security?
-
What angers me most about social security is the fact that city, county, state and federal employees DO NOT pay into it. They already have personally controlled retirement plans through their government employer. The people who get hit the hardest are small business owners and employees whose income is reported via 1099.

Actually, it helps the working poor the most. They are the ones who llive pay check to pay check and cannot afford to save money for their retirement outside of the system. Therefore, if they had a protected account from money that they were already paying into Social Security through taxes then they could save for their retirement and have a real opportunity to accumulate wealth.
