SO that famous pile of plastic bottles on (http://profile.ak.facebook.com/object2/781/66/n2706340189_5834.jpg) can be put to use. We don't have to fear plastic, we have to use what we already have. However, we probably don't need to harvest anymore of it.

  • There would be no "finished its life" we would use it forever. It could be destroyed by a car wreck maybe.

    and they charged over half a million dollars to build that bride. something that a few 10 thousand dollars would of done.

  • This is very serious as we have large areas of the open ocean called gyres with

    floating bits of platics that are getting into the food chain.

  • One would assume you could melt them down into raw components once again. They probably have different melting temperatures.

  • Once the plastics are bonded together, can they ever be separated? Would this mean that once the bridge has finished its life that it would have to be landfilled/incinerated? If so it isn't really zero waste is it?
