I like the subtle noise of Bambi's demise. And the children's demented joy. That made me smile a big one.

ROFL The little children are super happy.
Good times.

I am sorry but what made the original short film great was the credits. I rather see the original.

lol wtf XD

A dumb argument if ever I read one. I loved the original short when I saw it before the Monty Python feature. I doubt Marv would be offended. Maybe Walt Might. BTW: I didn't see any creds to Disney in the original short

The title says Bambi meets godzilla, but i cant see Bambi, just a creepy thing eating flowers.... oh wait a second...

I was waiting for a remake of this old classic.

I do not see one mention of Marv except in your post. Even so, it is not enough to take someone elses work and re do it. Your excuse that you wanted to modernize it and show it to a new generation is weak at best considering much of the original premise is changed. The credits have alot to do with making the original work.
I think you had some good ideas but just used the wings of another talent to propose your vids. I hope Marv or an entity that has the rights to his original sees this.

@LIJBeach Your comment sounds like I desecrated a priceless work of art. My job was to come up with a video that would provide a humorous transition during a live production for 1200 teenagers. The theme was "Collide", so this short immediately came to mind. I couldn't show the original. There are copyright issues and I couldn't even find a high quality copy. The programming didn't allow for a long gag involving credits, so i changed that since I had the opportunity.

@LIJBeach This video- and the three others in the series- have so many differences that this is more of a homage than anything. I would be proud for Marv to see these videos, and I think he would enjoy them. This did not take any money away from Marv himself, and I point people to the original as my inspiration. Because of that, hundreds of people HAVE been introduced to the brilliant original. These videos are not the epitome of my creative talent. I just thought people might enjoy them.

Can you say "Plagerisim" boys and girls?
I saw the original of this some 20 years ago. You could have at least gotten creative and made it Rudolph meet Kin Kong or something. As I recall the original was much better (even with the fact they didn't have the benefit of computer graphics) and much funnier.

Of course this video is not original. I was very careful to give full credit to Marv Newland- the animator of the 1969 original short- in the description of this video. This was just one of a series of four that I made for a couple of large student events. I wanted to be able to share the concept with a new generation, and the best way for me to do so and make sure it looked good on two large IMAG screens was to re-create the video and pay tribute to the genius that is Marv Newland.

I forgot to mention that the original can be found in the side bar of this page under "related videos". People can feel free to watch it - and the other three parts to my series- and form their own opinions of they would like. Personally, I prefer the cheering of the children over the original piano chord sound. However, you can't beat the look of an animated short that has been hand drawn frame-by-frame like the original.
