The most innovative and comprehensive warm-up you can do before exercise. Go through full ranges of motion and learn to stretch and strengthen your muscles through a full range of motion. Do it as a warm-up or speed it up and do it as a workout. Some of you will feel like it is a workout the first couple times you go through the full active stretch routine. Active stretching is a key component of the idealshape program and is designed to help you get into your ideal shape.

  • You say static stretching does not help prevent the likelihood of injury prevention before a workout. I agree with that study but after the workout once the muscles are heated, is it better to do active stretching or static or dynamic. Thanks in advance.

  • @MariosLasagna we use both static and dynamic post workout to help with recovery. Often times if time allows we will do some dynamic stretching during the workout to prevent soreness. We have found this to be the most effective way of implementing stretching with our clients.

  • I am a fitness expert and have been using active stretching for years. This video is a great example of a warm-up I would do with my clients before a resistance or cardio workout.

  • This is a great video. I have done these stretches and my flexibility is better. I also feel a lot better prepared for my workout.
