In this segment number nine of CUT BACK: facing ageism we asked what do older workers offer? Experience, dedication. Survival skills. Intergenerational interaction improves health and benefits not only older workers, but younger as well. Dispelling myths through successful examples. Reliability. Just do it, it'll get done. Funny story from Tom Farley about moving. Keep working. Cut off dates.

Featuring: Enid Rosario, Dorothy Poston, James Lansing, Elisabeth Zamarelli, Paul Arfin, Tom Farley, Nona Oliver, Dublin interviews, Miriam Levenson and Leslie Lewis.

  • I am pleased to see that some companies feel that when it comes to cutting back to save money, it is really cheaper in the long run to go ahead and hire the older worker. The older workers are loyal and helping to the younger generation. Younger workers can even learn alot from an older worker. If you age discriminate, not nly do you loose in customers which cuts down on sales, but also you can get a ticket and be slapped with a severe fine!
