This is my final project for Middle Eastern Communities in the United States. I want to show how Aladdin shows racism, sexism, and stereotypes.

  • a movie that takes place in the middle east where people have middle eastern accents and are wearing middle eastern clothes!? WOAH!!! shut your mouth

  • Anyone who objects to movies because of stupid reasons like this need both a history lesson and a lesson on how society in their own country as well as other countries work. Even in the United States today, there is racism, sexism, and sereotypes all over the place. Many Americans think that hispanic people are stealing jobs. Or how about those who live in the slums...are they all just a bunch of uneducated thugs who would kill their own mother for a dime. What about pregnant women? I think not!

  • Why is Jafar's face darker then the Reston him?

  • @CinRandom but Walt Disney died before Aladdin was even made. besides aren't those stereotypes necessary because they live in the middle east. i know racism is wrong but i dont think it was meant to be offensive

  • @pyrusperseus oh there definately was Walt Disney was rascist, and you not only notice it in Aladdin. I still like the movie and don't think a video like this is needed, but that doesn't mean it's not true.

  • Just a movie.

  • what the hell are you talking about none of this is offensive. it might seem that way if you dont look at it. but in religon, climate, and coincidence. it doesnt mean anything at all!!! there is no subliminal message....

  • @MrGooeyface iraq is in the middle east. and baghdad is in iraq, which again is in the middle east. rooky mistake.

  • Okay, I could spend HOURS poking holes in your statements here...but the biggest thing that needs pointing out is: Agrabah is a FICTIONAL place, and it's set in an unspecified time period, so it's ultimately not stepping on anybody's toes (although I think it's hilarious how you think it's racist to show a middle-eastern man in a turban). If you're doing this as a project, fair enough, I've had to bullshit about similar topics, but these arguments rarely hold water outside of the essay world.

  • This is all totally not true the people in Arabia have street performers like the ones in India this is all lies!!!

  • To everyone who sees this video, given the fact that this person contradicts himself and is acting like a stereotypical easily-offended jackarse, I think he may just be looking for attention. Maybe we shouldn't dignify the idiot by commenting on the video.

  • how do we know for sure it is the middle east it could be Iraq baghdad or maybe india who knows?
