From the album Foolish Seasons, 1967

Song is by Donovan, the Karen Verros version was released earlier but this one is my favorite.

  • Thanks mucho for posting this. I have been looking for the Lp, but its hard to find. I haven't looked yet on your site, but if you haven't already, could ya post a few more songs from the lp?

  • I only have a few tracks off of Jimmy Page bootleg collections but the album was reissued on CD a couple years ago.

  • I like Karen's version better. Hear the vocal's are more sharp, but it loses that great rock sound of the original and becomes too poppy.

  • I was aware of her, and that Tony DeFries managed her for a spell, and that acting tended to take precedence over her music. I can't honestly say she ever won me over with her music, but this is a standout song by any degree. Is it because it was composed by Donovan, who she was involved with for a time, and perhaps that resulted in a more passionate performance? (of course it might just be that it's at a faster, rockin' tempo than many of the other tunes on the LP) On a par with Karen Verros'.

  • Wow! : ) A new discovery for me. Absolutely amazing!!! Thank you. Never heard of this artist.

  • absolute totally cool

    yes!!!!!

  • Yes, the snare fills on the Verros version (which I have on a Girls In The Garage comp) are catchy.

  • Nice Lp, seems like the vinyl is going up in value too, looking at ebay.

  • if you visit the dana gillespie website you should be able to fill all thev gaps and order the re-issues as cd versions.

  • The thing about the Karen Verros version is that has those cool snare fills before the chorus. Ecstacy!
