I almost wish the (admittedly hilarious) SNL parody of this film had never happened, because the scenes of Walken's predictions in The Dead Zone stand alone as startling, terrifying sequences of a pretty peerless calibre. There aren't many other moments in film that made me jump quite like this one did when he first grabs the nurse's arm. Walken's utter emotional commitment to this role is admirable - in the days before he became a self-parody.
