Carillon--Ave Maria--Montségur

A piano composition on the very simple and touching melody of the pilgrim song "Ave Maria de Lourdes" which I heard first from a little church carillon in France 1o years ago....it has followed me during the years. Now this piece is part of "Centuries" Looking back to a dark time 750 years ago, when the Cathars were persecuted and killed by an unholy alliance of church and secular power....the castle Montségur was one of their last fortresses. 2oo of them choose to get burned alive instead of giving their faith up, as inquisition had requested...
