The upcoming Republican primary in Florida is a key battle ground in the race for the presidential nomination.

Florida is important for several key reasons because it is a closed primary, only the 2 million registered republicans can vote.

Adam Smith, a political editor. said "a win in Florida gives you a pretty credible claim that you can stack up in the general election. Because even though it's just republicans voting here it's a big diverse group of republicans."

Al Jazeera's Alan Fisher reports from Tampa, Florida.

AH! YOU SAY: "BUT, HE DIDN'T WRITE OR KNOW ABOUT IT!."

    I SAY TO YOU FOOLS:

"YOU EXPECT ME TO TAKE THAT ON FAITH?"

I'M AN ATHEIST, NOT A MORON.

  • Ron Paul is a free thinking American citizen who has learned to research issues and think for himself rather than root for the Democrats or Republicans like it's a football game.

  • @slewofdamascus

Yeah yeah yeah.... "Oba- der, I mean Ron Paul 2012!" Same sheep, different rock star with terrible platforms.

  • @TheKanagawaboy that's my problem? you=asshole? Obama was a media creation for the most part, while Ron Paul, on the other hand, is a media anti-creation, ignored except by his passionate, educated supporters. Obama is fools gold, and his platform a Potemkin Village of broken promises. The initiated drank Obama's spiked kool-aid hard and odds are they are still inebriated. Ron Paul has a record of substance. A life of substance. He is a writer of important books, a deliverer of babies. u fail

  • @slewofdamascus

Maybe that's your problem. Just like the Obamanaughts 4 years ago, the American people keep hoping for a "savior" to come in and fix the day. Ron Paul is just this year's "Political rock star." He isn't winning because most people don't like his platform. It's not a conspiracy (not really - the media IS bullshit even in this). Stop looking for a savior and DO things yourself. America needs to stop depending on leaders and start making their leaders work for them.

  • Lot's of older retired people living in Florida that watch Fox News and then vote!

  • @TheKanagawaboy Paul supporters recognize that the level of media manipulation is a deterrent to winning at the moment. Ron Paul is receiving as much or more popular support from young, exhuberant voters than Obama did 4 years ago, but the media has chosen not to deliver this truth. RP would win if once-popular american ideals hadn't been turned on their head in the past several decades. Like sound currency or a non-interventionist foreign policy. Today, 6/10 voters couldn't define those terms.
