It provides a level of realism, detail, performance and emotion never seen before in a videogame, and brings them to life in a totally new way.

Developed by Team Bondi in conjunction with Rockstar Games, L.A. Noire is a dark and violent detective thriller set against the backdrop of Los Angeles in the post-war years of the late 1940s, the most corrupt and violent period in the city's history.

BTW, the employees at Rockstar absolutely hate the people in charge of that project, due to them being FORCED to work 100 hour work-weeks to make this game by deadline. That's a 15 hour work day, 7 days a week. This was a great game, but I feel sorry for those devs.
