  • Hey guy, nice video. I want to build something like this. Can you tell me what's the main processor?

And what is the totally height of this one?

    Great job!

  • @debegr92: Thanks for the nice comments. This 'bot is based on a Freescale 68HC12 (as mounted on a small Axiom development board), but could easily be driven by any 8- or 16-bit microprocessor. I use a dual motor controller from Pololu (simple GPIO control signals) and an RS-232-based V-Stamp voice module from RC Systems, which can also be driven by GPIO lines. The robot is about 36" tall.

  • I've seen a lot of balancing robots on youtube but this one is definitely the best I've seen so far. EXCELLENT JOB. I love the design but specially the voice speeches that it makes. Great balance also.

  • Thanks for the nice words, pouchysmat999. Glad you liked my 'bot!

  • lol nice

  • Great Job!

  • ITS ALIIIIIIIIIVVVVVVVVEEEEE!!!!

  • stole from titan !

  • good work there very cool, with the PID systems they always need some tweaking, would it be possible to characterize the surfaces the BOT sees and use this as some form of adaptive feedback/learning auto tune of the PID variables.

This is both very silly and very engaging I hope your students appreciate it :) I'm very interested in using some form of adaptive PID system that uses past characterizations of it's inputs so Hopefully my error and rate to tune is quicker.

    all the best
