Even with filters,which eliminate PM10 particulate,diesels also produce PM5,which causes CANCER.

Petrol engines DON'T pruduce particulate at all.

With all the filters it's very wrong to call a 335d 'a smoking diesel'. Another thing, put a 335d against a 335i in a race from London to the south of France, and the diesel will win due to it's fuel efficient engine.

Why so prejudiced about diesels? Modern diesels have filters which make them much cleaner then petrol engines, so you're very wrong saying that this is 'a smoking diesel'. Btw, the diesel is much more fuel efficient than an equivalent petrol car. Put a 335d against a 335i in a race from London to the south of France and the 335d will most definately win.
