Marion Raven Tour Diary - Part 5

Hi there I have decided to start a tourdiary on the site so you can read about what I´ve been up to. I will try my best to update it as much as I can.
My first trip to Europe for promotion as gone great.
I met a lot of interesting people on my first trip to Amsterdam, London, Hamburg, Koln (Cologne), Munchen (Munich), Baden Baden, Mannheim and Frankfurt.

I met & performed for a variety of radio, television, print, online media and a few fans. It is great to hear everyones early reactions and praise.

I performed " Here I Am" , " Crawl" , " For You I'll Die" , " Break You" , " Falling Away" and my new song " Thank You For Loving Me" on guitar or piano. I will post some stuff for you in the coming weeks. I have been taking photos and I bought a little handy cam so I can preview my wonderful trips around Canada and Europe.

I ended my first trip in Frankfurt at 19.30pm at the airport and actually heard my interview with SWR3 which is one of the most influential radio networks in Southwest Germany. They played " It's All Coming Back to Me Now" and my new acoustic version of " Falling Away" which I recorded at their studio before lunch time. "Falling Away" will be the first single in Germany and Netherlands. The actual date will be posted next week.

I started my European trip on the 27th March with a photographic session with William Rutten a cool guy with one of the coolest studios I have ever been to in the world. (http://www.williamrutten.nl/) then I drove back to Amsterdam for interviews at the legendary Hard Rock Café and concluded my evening with an intimate audience singing by candle light for 20 selected media (with no soundsystem) who really caught me in fine form over the canal next door to the also famous Paradiso Club. There was even a fan who travelled 3 hours to come see me.

The next day I flew to London after a 6.30am departure from the Hotel to the airport. I arrived in the morning and checked into my hotel near Regents Park.
I went over to Soundcheck at 12noon at a place nearby the BBC called the Social. We had over 50 people there from all over the media. I sang with a little sound sytem and the acoustics were perfect and everyone seemed to be surprised by my acoustic performance as I felt very encouraged to play for every in person.

Afterwards I went over to the Gibson Rooms, a showcase studio and home of Gibson Guitars in London. It was the perfect place to host my interviews. I also performed a taped internet session with Tiscalli who are the no. 3 ISP in the UK. They host a series with new artists but have also hosted new stars like Paulo Nuttini, Amy Winehouse and Orson. I will post the date and times that this performance will air so you can check it out.

I did interviews with a host of media and had two nice action packed days and was pleased to make go to the Capital Studios where I made an interview at Disney Radio on Friday at 5pm. Then I traveled to the airport and flew home to Oslo to meet up with friends for the weekend. How lovely that the spring has finally arrived.

On Sunday 1st April, I flew at 20,00pm to Hamburg had dinner with my German press agent. We started early the next morning and had a photo session with one of Germany's top photo agencies. I began the lengthiest interview schedule for the next three days. In Germany, I did not have showcases but met many publications for one-on-one interviews. I also performed at the offices in Munich for Bravo, Metal Hammer, Music Express, Maxim, Mädchen, Jolie, Pop Corn and more.

Finally on Thursday, I got to perform for radio stations WDR, HR 3 and a couple of Magazines including Breakout . We actually drove on this occasion and I actually got to see the South and West parts of Germany during the day. Very pretty place and I really enjoyed my time here.

I am flying to New York next week to peform at Madison Square Garden with Meat Loaf. It really is turning out to be a beautiful year and I hope to hear from you all soon.

With some artists, you would like to see them do well in the industry because you can hear it in their voice how much they would appreciate it. I hope this girl does well.
