2009 Columbus Marathon video by Perrin Peacock. This is Part 1 (of 2) and takes you step by step through the Columbus marathon from lining up at the start to the halfway point at mile 13.1. The scenes are Pre-Race, Starting Line, Interview w/ Charles Kielkopf, Mile 5 Aid Station, Mile 13, and Halfway Point. This was my 8th Columbus Marathon and my 19th run of marathon distance or greater. Check out Columbus Marathon Part 2 to see from the halfway point to the finish.
Hey I'm thinking of running the Columbus marathon next year. Do you have any advice or training tips? I've been running 5k's for over 4 years and I've trained at 50 miles a week before. What training schedule did you use?

Yes, sure. Start 3-4 months out. If you've been doing 3 miles or so, gradually increase your weekly runs to 3-5 miles for at least 2-3 days during the week. Then do some longer (slower) weekend runs. Try to gradually get to a 8 or 10 miler over 3-6 weeks. Then email me back:
