I have to admit, your theory re: a master programmer is intriguing. I can't help but think of the last scene from Men in Black where our immense universe is contained inside a marble that an alien is playing with. That concept, in it's simplicity, opens up a whole new line of thinking which I think you touched on.

To be fair, the only reason I'm an agnostic is because I am waiting for String Theory and Loop Quantum Gravity to be proven or disproven. If they turn out correct, I'll be using this rationality to become a believer. (Basically, I'm an agnostic because in my book, there isn't enough data in yet to form a full judgement.)

Granted. On the other hand, should the theories get proven, it might increase the possibility of their being a god as described here. At the very least this could provide for some new testable predictions as to test for a God's existence or lack thereof.
