Well... while this is definitely not a prime example of a silent movie (look up Keaton or Chaplin instead - they are more worthwhile), many movies from this era are black and white and without voices (being "silent movies"...)
As for the resolution, I suppose that may just be the encoding for YouTube. The transfer itself is mastered from the original negative, which we are lucky to have.
Please give silent movies a chance, just not this one. :)

idk if all the movies of that era r llike this,
but this sux
it has no voices
no color
bad resolution
no plot
and its not even funny!!
and the whole movie is just 18mins long??
that not even worth the trip to the theater
