  • Hey, guys, get this. If you go out and buy a 15$ kitchen scale that reads in grams you can STOP your chin from getting sick before it happens. What'll happen that you won't notice is WEIGHT CHANGES. You can keep a small log of your chins weight (if you start weighing your ADULT chin and it isn't around 500-1000 grams there's already a problem) If your chins drops or gains 15-20 grams in a week, take him in! (Small weight changes are expected in transitions from summer to winter and vice versa.)

  • If someone cannot afford the Vet they should not have the pet. It is so sad that a majority of pet stores are interested in profit not the well being of the animal. All of my pets (including 4 chinchillas) are rescues. Thank you for posting this.

  • I think it's stressed!

  • I second this message. Chinchillas hide their sickness really well, and by the time they show symptoms, they are usually really sick! It's definitely important to act on any sign of illness immediately!

  • Great video!

  • very well done Sarah
