The PD will give it some coverage but hasn't promoted it in many years, heck, decades. In fact, the Plain Dealer actually created the Golden Gloves. For the first few decades it was the Plain Dealer Golden Gloves. But times have changed. Thank goodness SportsTime Ohio is providing plenty of opportunities to get the word out, most notably the Bruce Drennan show.

I hear the plain dealer will not be covering this years events?
Any truth to that? If so, we'll have to promote it hard for the kids. Why would the PD not support a local non-profit that is for the kids?
