arkitecture. vines needs and stores carbohydrates to produce fruit. if you let a vine grow as much fruit as it wants one year, the following year the vine has less reserved carbs so it will be a small, low quallity crop.

Can anyone explain 'over crop' ?

Great video bob. I have a small grapevine about 6ft tall. When can I expect it to start and develop grapes? Could you show what grape looks like when it starts developing grapes. I mean from the first signs that fruit is growing. Dose grape flower or just produce fruit straight from the buds?

Arnookie,
I spoke with Bob at the farmers market, and he sends this reply. "Grapes flower, and then fruit forms from the flowers. This year, the flower buds on my grapes all froze in early spring, and so I will not have any grapes this year. A grape vine will normally produce fruit in its third year after it was planted."
