What a voice!
-
"Sway" (Cameo 182) was the ninth of Bobby Rydell's 33 hits between 1959 and 1965. It debuted the week of November 7, 1960 and peaked at #14 over an eleven week run. And, as other people have noted, Bobby absolutely NAILS this song, creating THE definitive recording. Considering that nearly all TV in 1960 was in black and white, the existence of this color short is truly remarkable. One hopes, though, that a higher quality, less blurry print exists somewhere.

Bobby Rydell is the ONLY singer who can sing this song....no one else. He's always been my favorite singer in the 60's.
-
Amazing...my second fave Bobby side (Cha Cha Cha is tops)...never saw this clip....5***** and thanks

Strategy, strategy, strategy......A briiliant musician close to this situation thinks
re-recording this with some Spanish violins might be one way for Rydell to
score today. A reinterpretation of a classic. I value good ideas.

Buble may get the hits, but his voice can't touch Rydell's. PCDs do a sexy version that I adore, but Rydell still kills it. May not have the coreography of the others; Rydell's version is time tested.

Bobby is an original. Voice quality is
extraordinary. Buble is a fine singer, but
only in his dreams can he match B.R.....
