IN THE FIELD: The Belgian Health Ministry has joined voices condemning Pope Benedict XVI's public denunciation of condom use as the best way to tackle the AIDS crisis that is ravaging Africa. The Pope said condoms "aggravate" the problem.

While the Pope is against condom use, he's also against extra-marital affairs. In other words if everyone followed his advice infections would eventually drop dramatically. Unfortunately much of the AIDS crisis in Africa is down to rape, extra-marital affairs, etc. So how dumb is for people to say "i'll will force myself on a woman, but i can't use a condom, it's against my religion!" lol. So in reality nothing the Pope has said is wrong here, it's just opportunistic criticism from non-Catholics

The practice of sex with condoms by people who are infected with aids do spread aids. As the protection is quite far from being 100% safe, the belief that they are, by many thousands of infected people, obvioulsly spreads aids in a way that monogamy and abstinence don't. If you were not aware condoms are not 100% safe you were right to make your comment. If you weren't, you are a fallacious idiot.

@teedonster If you make your own moral and selfless decisions; Thats great. Then why are you against books that propagate morality? The books are just supporting and justifying morality and selflessness which you claim to practice on your own. I think where you differ with religion is on how morality should be observed in society and whether it should be enforced. Religion or Islam from my knowledge criminalizes immorality and it is for our betterment. Our creator does not need anything from us.

@teedonster Well the Abrahamic religions are related to each other. Christianity is the successor of Judaism. Islam is the successor of Christianity. If you study the Abrahamic religions. You will realize which book is the true word of God.

I don't know what version of Islam you are talking about.You mean the only two Shia, Sunni? They are political rivals regarding leadership, study them and you will realize Islamic theology is one.

@nofreedom4racists you know what makes me lol the most? when religious people say other religons are wrong whilst they do the same back, heres the thing only one one religion can be right or maybe every religion ever shown can be wrong.

and if you say only islam is the correct religion then which version? and is every other religion wasting their time?

im atheist and ive made my own moral and selfless decisions and i dont need to follow a book to do that.

@teedonster Well ofcourse the portrayal of religion to the people depends on how educated the propagators are. I cannot give an answer regarding your examples of Christianity because I am a Muslim not a Christian. But I do believe Christianity is an old religion which its teachings have been distorted over the centuries by humans. Christians who believe this try to associate with the truth. Athiests don't have an obligation to be moral or selfless. Religious people do which is good for society.
