animalover, I can take the point that the role of Mark could be 'geeky' - but I can't agree that a voice in a musical should be less that good (or perfect as you suggest) to 'fit' your idea of the part.

After all, we go to a 'musical' to hear damned good singing above all else. And that's what you get with this singer.

What 'fits' is just a matter of taste. You said Anthony sings 'almost as good as the original' and I was just disputing that - you can prefer whatever you choose. I prefer it sung in tune with a properly produced voice, just can't listen when someone's pitch is off. I didn't like the music at all until I heard Anthony sing it.

I'm not saying the VOICE is better in GENERAL, just for this song, a perfect voice doesn't fit as well, it is amazing in its own way.

This is sung by the character Mark. If you're talking about actual singing there's no comparison. Anthony Callea's a trained singer. Anthony Rapp's an actor.
