I also had an 85 gt. ive had other mustangs also. when i first got married i had a T-bird super coupe, and a 1972 Torino sport. now that i have kids its suv,s and gas saving family cars. But about 8 months ago i bought an 87 mustang lx. 2.3 . looks nice. its in my garage, im doing a little work on it should be ready to drive around this spring and summer.

You have an absolute gem there. Can you upload a shot of the turbo four engine itself?

you seem to know alot about this car, I have a 1979 2.3l non-turbo mustang as well (automatic) would the engine be able to handle me putting on a turbo if i found a used one?
sorry if thats adumb question, im more of a carpenter then mechanic haha

sure, but there's is an electronic retard on the distributor to keep the engine from pinging when the boost kicks in. and or course, you would also need the crossover pipe from the exhaust up to the turbo. I think stock it's 6psi, but if you want more boost, you may need water injection for the carburetor

Nice car! I had a 79 pace car with the turbo motor and 4 speed. Wasn't real fast, but was fun to drive. I can hear the turbo spool!
I want to find another 79 someday.

thanks, yeah it's really fun to drive. People try to race me at the lights, but I let them go and save myself the embarrassment. haha
