  • thank you to all firefighters

  • Nice video Jared! I like the music choices you put on here. I finished up my Chabot F.F. I Academy there at ALCO Training Tower - good times! Can you clarify what the XAL Academy is? Is it a combination of firefighter recruits from different Alameda County departments - such as LPFD, Fremont, Union City, SRVFPD, etc...??? I hope to join you guys in a few years! Stay safe!

  • hey brothers...nice video...congrats on becoming firefighter.. and hello from the new zealand fire service :)

  • "continued"...And to think of it every single academy ive co-instructed in the last 3 years every single recruit has graduated outstanding and every single one of them: my superiors and my self consider them all exquisite role model firefighters and we are proud and honored to have them representing our department.

so please keep in mind dicipline, sharing your knowledge goes way beyond then

"yelling and screaming at the top of your lungs"!

  • "continued"... knowledge and your teachings, and always i mean always if a recurit needs a little extra help or showed the proper way to handle some thing don't scream or yell! be firm and show the recruit the proper way to do it ,personally ive spent many after hours and my days off with new recruits showing them the right way no matter how many times i have to do it and ive never ever yelled or screamed, ive always used a very calm but firm manner in speaking " i remember i was one of them too"

  • when i went throught that with ALCO fire, i remembered this..even to this day as i co-instruct our academys: you learn by teaching and teach by experiance, yelling and screaming at your recruits dose not leave a lasting effect or effective knowledge in them, from experiance: if the instructor is frim , calm and diciplined so will be your recruits and your teaching, experiances, and knowledge, will sink-in a lot more effectively and thourough with that recurit, and he will more hunger to gain your.
