  • Wonderful shots -- places I have been to as well. I've been thinking of adding a Kiev to my Bronica and Mamiya medium format cameras and it looks like you're getting good use and reliable service from the 88. Excellent testimonial. If you listen to HF my call is VE6NYC and you may hear me from time to time. Again, nice work.

  • Hi again,

Sounds like you and I have had some similar experiences. I first began interested as a young boy early in WWII, and have maintained that interest since. I got my first FCC comm lic. in 1950. and my 1st Phone later, working for 2 stations as engineer. I aso develpoed an interest in Photography,, still and motion, and served in the Korean War as a combat "fuzzygrapher". Later, I was a staf photog for 2 newspapers, 1953. I still hold a GROL, but am not active photog..Thanks.

Yes, I served in the USAF 1966-70. After training I was on the flight-line in these countries, Philippines, RVN, Okinawa, and Texas. I got my 1st Phone mid 70s. Worked for a phone company for fifteen year. Then worked for a phone equipment manufacture for fifteen years. I am an award winning and prize photographer. And I have written two books on antique vacuum tube radio repair.

  • I really need to start saving up for a new Hasselblad 500cm.

  • @JIMIXIMAGES

Yes it is sad, but I do not miss spending many hours in the dark room and throwing a lot of paper away. But I am glad I also did spend time in the dark room. This digital photography is fantastic. If I would have had this when I was in High School my whole life may have been different. The control you have with digital is amazing and very predictable. Love it!

  • @JIMIXIMAGES

I would not give up my digital cameras. I tried to give my 4X5 dark room to the local High School, they did not want it. They have torn down the Kodak buildings in Rochester NY. My D200 produces higher quality images than does my 4X5 cameras. However using film cameras, you do need more knowledge and skill about photography and the camera to get results.

  • Thanks JIMIXIMAGES

I love all my cameras. You may be interested in the three videos I did on my three 4X5 cameras, a Speed Graphic Graffix, Crown Graphic, and my Wista Field camera. I have a full 4X5 color dark room, but of course I don't use it anymore. Now I use a Nikon D70 and a Nikon D200, love them too. Love Photoshop too.

  • @MegaAfroGuy

    Yep, me too.
