Yes what would this country be or sound like without African Americans. Even words are just coming into the masses now . Jake is slang for 'Great'. It was more common in the '30's than now. In 'The Sting' when Newman asks if anything is wrong, Redmond responds, 'Everything's jake'. I think it's the cats meow!
